Description Position Summary: Franklin University, a private, independent, accredited, not-for-profit University located in Columbus, Ohio invites applicants for its Adjunct Faculty-Criminal Justice position beginning Fall 2026. The Adjunct Faculty role includes primary responsibility for providing quality instruction and maintaining a positive learning environment with an emphasis placed on teaching, supporting and evaluating students. Assigned courses will be for online instruction. Courses include : Evidence Based Practice & Research This innovative approach to research describes best practices and data-driven solutions in criminal justice research including quantitative, qualitative, and program evaluation research. Students will be good consumers of research and will have the fundamental knowledge necessary to evaluate research studies, evaluate their value toward their field of interest, and evaluate their usefulness for making sound decisions in the field. Advanced Evidence Based Practice and Research Methods This innovative approach to research describes best practices and data-driven solutions in criminal justice research including quantitative, qualitative, and program evaluation research. Students will be good consumers of research and will have the fundamental knowledge necessary to evaluate research studies, evaluate their value toward their field of interest, and evaluate their usefulness for making sound decisions in the field. This role will work a remote schedule. Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Teaches courses in discipline
  • Maintains attendance records, determines and submits grades with established timeframes established by the University
  • Creates a welcoming, inclusive and productive learning environment
  • Supports the resolution of student issues related to course instruction
  • Provides feedback on what is working and what is not with the course
  • Participates in all department meetings and required training
  • Participates in personal professional development
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Lead Faculty

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

  • PhD in Criminal Justice
  • Commitment to collaborative & collegiate relationships
  • Maintain confidential and sensitive information
  • Knowledge of higher education regulations, compliance and accrediting agencies
  • Computer proficiency
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to communicate in a professional manner and work effectively with faculty, staff, students and members of the professional community
  • Excellent multi-tasking skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Skills and Characteristics:

  • Previous teaching experience
