Grant Writer Needed for Nonprofit Funding (Programs, Capacity Building & Operations) - Contract to Hire

We are a mission-driven nonprofit seeking an experienced Grant Writer to help secure funding for programs, initiative development, capacity-building, infrastructure, and general operating support. Our organization focuses on creating impactful community-based programs that serve underserved populations through hands-on education, workforce development, and sustainability initiatives. We are looking for a professional who can independently research opportunities and write compelling, fundable proposals that align with foundation, corporate, and government grant requirements. Scope of Work / Deliverables: Research and identify relevant grant opportunities aligned with our mission Write and submit grant proposals, LOIs (Letters of Inquiry), and funding applications Develop strong narratives that clearly communicate program impact and outcomes Assist with grant calendars, deadlines, and submission tracking Support funding strategies for: Program development and initiative incubators Capacity-building and organizational growth Infrastructure and operational support Optional: Assist with grant reporting and compliance documentation Required Skills & Experience: Proven experience as a grant writer (with successful funded proposals preferred) Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills Ability to translate programs into clear, compelling funding proposals Familiarity with nonprofit funding sources (foundations, government, corporate) Strong research and organizational skills Ability to work independently and meet deadlines Communication & Work Style: Clear, consistent communication and progress updates Ability to ask questions and collaborate with leadership when needed Detail-oriented with a focus on deadlines and deliverables Proactive, solution-focused, and self-managed workflow Open to feedback and revisions for alignment with funder expectations What We Offer: Opportunity to work with a growing nonprofit making real community impact Long-term collaboration potential for the right candidate Meaningful projects that directly support underserved communities Flexible remote work environment Apply tot his job Apply To this Job
