Sports Event Coordinator

Our client, a leading sports organization in Minneapolis, Minnesota, US , is seeking a dynamic and organized Sports Event Coordinator to manage and execute a variety of athletic events. This role is crucial for ensuring the successful planning, implementation, and post-event analysis of all assigned sporting activities. You will be responsible for coordinating logistics, managing budgets, liaising with vendors, and ensuring a high-quality experience for participants, spectators, and stakeholders. This hybrid role offers the flexibility to work both on-site at our facilities and remotely from your home office. Key Responsibilities: Plan, organize, and execute sports events from conception to completion. Coordinate event logistics, including venue selection, scheduling, staffing, and equipment needs. Develop and manage event budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness and fiscal responsibility. Liaise with internal departments, external vendors, sponsors, and sports federations. Develop marketing and promotional materials for events. Oversee registration processes and participant management. Manage on-site event operations, ensuring smooth execution and addressing any issues that arise. Coordinate with safety and security personnel to ensure a secure environment. Conduct post-event evaluations, gather feedback, and prepare detailed reports. Maintain accurate event records and databases. Contribute to the development of new event concepts and strategies. Uphold the organization's brand and reputation through exceptional event delivery. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Sports Management, Marketing, Event Management, or a related field. Proven experience in event planning and coordination, preferably in a sports context. Excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking skills. Strong negotiation and vendor management abilities. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and event management software. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines. Willingness to travel and work irregular hours, including weekends and holidays as required by event schedules. A passion for sports and a commitment to delivering high-quality events. Experience with digital marketing and social media promotion for events is a plus.
