Senior Event Manager - Sports and Entertainment

Our client is seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Event Manager to lead the planning, execution, and successful delivery of high-profile sports and entertainment events in Atlanta, Georgia . This role requires a passionate individual with a keen eye for detail, exceptional organizational skills, and a proven ability to manage complex logistics, budgets, and stakeholder relationships. You will be responsible for all aspects of event management, from conceptualization and budgeting to on-site coordination and post-event analysis. This includes securing venues, negotiating contracts with vendors and suppliers, developing event schedules, managing staff and volunteers, and ensuring a seamless and memorable experience for attendees. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the sports and entertainment industry, with a strong understanding of the unique demands of live events. You will work closely with marketing, sponsorship, and operational teams to ensure events align with strategic objectives and brand standards. This position requires a proactive approach, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. While the role requires on-site presence for event execution, a hybrid work model will allow for flexibility in planning and administrative tasks. We are looking for a creative and strategic leader who can deliver exceptional event experiences, foster strong partnerships, and contribute to the overall success of our event portfolio. Key Responsibilities: Plan, manage, and execute a diverse portfolio of sports and entertainment events. Develop detailed event budgets and manage financial expenditures effectively. Source and secure appropriate venues and negotiate contracts with vendors and suppliers. Oversee event logistics, including setup, teardown, audiovisual, and staffing. Develop and implement event marketing and promotional plans. Manage on-site event operations to ensure smooth execution and guest satisfaction. Coordinate with internal teams, sponsors, and external stakeholders. Conduct post-event analysis, including financial reconciliation and performance evaluation. Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and insurance requirements. Foster strong relationships with venue staff, vendors, and talent representatives. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Event Management, Hospitality, Marketing, or a related field. Minimum of 7 years of experience in event planning and management, with a focus on sports and entertainment. Proven experience managing large-scale, complex events from start to finish. Strong understanding of event production, logistics, and financial management. Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in event management software and tools. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required by event schedules. Demonstrated leadership and team management capabilities.
