POLITY built GovToKnow, an AI-powered platform that helps cities and towns give residents instant answers about public records, ordinances, and local government information. We're making local government more accessible—one municipality at a time. The Role We're hiring a Sales Executive who knows how to sell to local government. You'll own the full sales cycle—prospecting municipal leads, running demos for city clerks and administrators, navigating procurement, and closing contracts. This is a ground-floor opportunity to shape our go-to-market and build relationships with the communities we serve.

What You'll Do

  • Prospect and qualify municipal government leads (cities, towns, counties)
  • Manage full-cycle sales from outreach through contract execution
  • Deliver product demos tailored to city clerks, IT directors, and elected officials
  • Navigate RFPs, cooperative purchasing, and government procurement processes
  • Represent POLITY at local government conferences and association events
  • Maintain pipeline accuracy in HubSpot and provide regular forecasts

What We're Looking For

  • 3+ years B2G sales experience, with 2+ years selling software to government (local/municipal preferred)
  • Deep understanding of local government operations, budget cycles, and procurement
  • Track record of hitting quota in complex, long-cycle sales environments
  • Proficiency with HubSpot CRM (deal tracking, pipeline management, reporting)
  • Excellent communication skills—able to translate tech into business value
  • Self-starter who can manage multiple opportunities independently
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for events and customer meetings

Bonus Points

  • Prior experience working in local government
  • Existing relationships with municipal associations or purchasing cooperatives
  • Familiarity with AI, chatbots, or civic tech
  • HubSpot Sales Hub certification

Compensation

Competitive base + uncapped commission, equity, remote-first culture. Pay: $50.00 - $75.00 per hour Benefits:
