Technical Sales Engineer – Smart Factory Remote – Up to 50% travel $150k OTE + equity I’m working with a US-based manufacturing AI and vision start-up who are currently going through some exciting growth plans, and are recruiting for an experienced Technical Sales Engineer to support with this continued expansion. This will be a customer-facing sales position, focused on working with prospective clients to understand their objectives, challenges and requirements, then providing tailored solutions and recommendations to resolve these. The position will be responsible for developing blueprints and layouts for machine vision and automation system installations within the manufacturing domain, as well as building customer relationships and successfully bringing in new logos for the business. The role will be acting as the technical sales manager and will be supporting the wider sales function by joining the sales cycle and helping to define technical project scope. Key skills & experience:

  • Need to have demonstrable sales experience within a manufacturing, industrial automation or machine vision organization
  • Experience with CAD software (Solidworks, AutoCAD, etc.), mechanical layouts, system mockups and machine vision platforms (Cognex, Keyence, Omron, etc.)
  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering disciplines
  • Ability to work independently when leading customer relationships and managing end-to-end sales cycles
  • Exposure to machine vision systems, industrial automation, robotics, conveyors, fixtures and production line integration
  • Able to travel as and when required for customer meetings
