Training Coordinator - Texas

THE OPPORTUNITY The Training Coordinator is responsible for the administration, coordination, compliance oversight, and documentation of all training activities that take place in Texas, ensuring compliance with the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) requirements. The Training Coordinator ensures all training activities, instructors, curricula, and records meet TCOLE statutory and regulatory requirements, supports operational readiness, and serves as the primary point of accountability during audits or reviews. The Training Coordinator does not deliver instruction, but instead ensures training activities are properly planned, conducted, documented, and reported in accordance with TCOLE rules and regulations. WHAT YOU’LL DO Training Program Administration Coordinate and schedule trainings. Create, monitor, and manage registration platform. Report attendance. Provide on-site administration support during trainings. TCOLE Compliance and Regulatory Oversight Ensure all training activities comply with Texas Occupations Code, TCOLE rules, and Texas Administrative Code provisions. Monitor TCOLE rules to ensure timely implementation within HTI. Serve as subject-matter resource on TCOLE standards. Serves as liaison with TCOLE for audits, inquiries, and compliance reviews. Instructor and Course Coordination Assign instructors in conjunction with the State Director. Verify instructor credentials, licenses, and eligibility to teach assigned courses. Coordinate instructors regarding presentation and travel needs. Training Standards Enforcement and Record Keeping Enforce attendance standards, testing and evaluation integrity, and documentation requirements. Attending each training course to review and approve rosters. Maintain training records. Ensure training completion is reported through required systems and to TCOLE. Training Material Support Create and disseminate training flyers to partner agencies. Edit and visually build out PowerPoint slides. Coordinate printing of all training materials. Process training materials to the Texas Practitioner Portal. WHAT YOU’LL BRING Bachelor’s degree required. 3 years’ experience as TCOLE Training Coordinator or working in a training department at a Texas law enforcement agency. Experience assisting an agency to become a TCOLE Training Provider, preferred. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, preferred. Proficient in Microsoft 365 (Teams, Excel, Word, Outlook). Proficient in Canva, preferred. TCOLE Basic Instructor Certificate or ability to obtain. HOW YOU’LL SUCCEED Knowledge and familiarity of TCOLE rules and compliance standards. Ability to audit documentation for accuracy and regulatory compliance. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities with proactive follow-up. Demonstrated effective collaboration skills across functions with clarity and professionalism. Strong stakeholder management skills.
