Job Title: AI Instructor Location: Remote (Lagos) Engagement Fee: 500,000 Naira net per month pro rata Engagement Type: Part time role at 0.4 FT (2 days a week including Saturdays) Reports To: Head of Capability Building (Director AI-4AI in the interim) About the African Institute for Artificial Intelligence (AI-4AI): The African Institute for Artificial Intelligence is at the forefront of advancing AI literacy, research, and responsible AI adoption across Africa. We aim to equip individuals and institutions with the expertise and tools needed to implement AI effectively, driving innovation, collaboration, and inclusive development. Position Overview: The AI Instructor will support the School Outreach Coordinator in delivering the Institute's AI literacy program across schools and membership communities. This role is primarily focused on teaching AI concepts to students and members, ensuring that every session is engaging, accessible, and aligned with the Institute's curriculum. Key Responsibilities: AI Teaching & Literacy Delivery Deliver advanced AI literacy sessions to the AI-4AI community as part of the Institute’s membership programme. Design and prepare curriculum for advanced AI literacy tailored to the needs of the AI-4AI community. Monitor and track knowledge growth within the community based on delivered topics and learning outcomes. Stay up to date with emerging AI trends, tools, and developments, demonstrating a strong capacity for continuous learning. Maintain a solid grounding in advanced AI literacy concepts and their practical applications. Support the delivery of AI literacy sessions to secondary school students during outreach visits, in alignment with the Institute’s approved curriculum. Facilitate clear, engaging, and age-appropriate learning experiences for diverse student audiences. Support the School Outreach Coordinator in the planning and execution of outreach activities. Assist in the preparation of teaching materials, session guides, and handouts ahead of outreach engagements. Maintain accurate attendance records and session notes and provide timely updates to the School Outreach Coordinator after each engagement. Incorporate participant feedback to continuously improve the quality, relevance, and delivery of AI literacy sessions. Contribute actively to the achievement of the Institute’s mission and vision. Qualifications & Experience: Bachelor's degree in Education, Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, a STEM field, or a related discipline. 1–3 years of experience in teaching, tutoring, or training facilitation. Familiarity with AI concepts and tools relevant to beginner and intermediate audiences. Strong communication and classroom facilitation skills. Ability to work as part of a team and take direction from a coordinator.
