Senior Event Manager - Virtual & Hybrid Experiences

Our client, a dynamic player in the hospitality and tourism sector, is seeking a creative and experienced Senior Event Manager to oversee the development and execution of both virtual and hybrid events. This hybrid role based in Portland, Oregon, US will require a blend of on-site coordination and remote management, focusing on delivering exceptional attendee experiences. You will be responsible for conceptualizing event themes, managing budgets, coordinating with vendors, and leveraging technology to create engaging virtual platforms and seamless hybrid integrations. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in event planning, a strong understanding of virtual event technology, and excellent communication and logistical skills. You will work closely with marketing, sales, and operational teams to ensure the success of all planned events. Responsibilities: Plan, manage, and execute a portfolio of virtual and hybrid events from concept to completion. Develop creative event strategies, themes, and content plans that engage diverse audiences. Manage event budgets, negotiate contracts with vendors and suppliers, and oversee expenses. Coordinate logistics for both virtual platforms (streaming, registration, networking) and in-person components (venue, AV, catering). Liaise with marketing and sales teams to ensure event objectives are met and attendee registration targets are achieved. Oversee speaker management, content development, and presentation logistics for all events. Provide on-site event support during in-person components and remote support during virtual sessions. Utilize event management software and virtual event platforms to manage registrations, engagement, and analytics. Analyze post-event data to measure success, gather feedback, and identify areas for improvement. Stay current with industry trends in event technology, virtual experiences, and hospitality. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Event Management, Marketing, Communications, or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of experience in event planning and management, with demonstrated experience in virtual and hybrid event formats. Proficiency with virtual event platforms (e.g., Hopin, Bizzabo, Cvent) and event registration systems. Strong project management, organizational, and multitasking skills. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills. Experience managing vendor relationships and contract negotiations. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Creative thinker with a passion for delivering memorable experiences. Familiarity with AV production and live streaming technologies is a plus. Ability to travel for on-site event coordination as needed.
