Part-Time Respiratory Care Lecturer; Evenings​/Online

Position: Part-Time Respiratory Care Lecturer (Evenings/Online) Lecturer, CC (Respiratory Care) – Part‑time temporary position at Kapi'olani Community College – Health Sciences, Honolulu, HI. Job Number: . Salary: Minimum $2,053 per credit hour, subject to lecturer placement. Duties and Responsibilities

• Teach courses in the assigned subject area.
• Prepare course syllabus and reports related to teaching and student progress.
• Assess student learning in terms of course competencies and program learning outcomes.
• Submit self‑assessment reports based on student and peer evaluations.
• Work under the general supervision of the discipline coordinator/division chairperson integrating teaching efforts with other instructors in the discipline area.
• Maintain one office hour per week for each class taught (20 minutes per credit per week).
• Classes may be offered online, evenings and/or weekends.

Minimum Qualifications

• Master's degree in Health or Health‑related field AND current Registered Respiratory Therapist.
• or Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy AND 3 years of related work experience AND current Registered Respiratory Therapist.
• or Associate Degree in Respiratory Therapy and a Baccalaureate degree in any field AND 5 years of related work experience AND current Registered Respiratory Therapist.

Desirable Qualifications

• Work experience related to courses to be taught.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively.
• Familiarity with competency‑ and outcomes‑based instruction.
• Currently a registered respiratory therapist at Queen’s, Straub, and Pali Momi hospitals in Honolulu for clinical practice courses.
