Mastercam Programmer

Job Title: CNC Programmer Job Description The Mastercam Programmer will create, optimize, and support CNC programs for precision-machined components. This role partners closely with machinists, engineering, and quality to ensure parts are produced accurately, efficiently, and repeatably. The ideal candidate is hands-on, process-driven, and comfortable owning parts from print to production.

Responsibilities

Program CNC machines using Mastercam (2D/3D toolpaths) for production and prototype work. Develop machining strategies for complex parts, including workholding, tooling selection, cutting parameters, and cycle time reduction. Generate setup documentation, tooling lists, and operator instructions to support consistent execution. Collaborate with machinists during first-article runs; troubleshoot issues and refine programs as needed. Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and customer specifications to ensure compliance and quality. Support continuous improvement initiatives, such as scrap reduction, process capability, and standardization. Work with quality to validate first articles and incorporate feedback into revised programs. Maintain organized program files, revision control, and documentation standards. Essential Skills 5+ years CNC programming experience using Mastercam in a machining environment. Strong understanding of machining fundamentals, including feeds/speeds, tooling, workholding, and materials. Ability to read prints and understand GD&T, inspection requirements, and CAD model review. Experience programming for 5-axis CNC milling and turning. Comfortable supporting the shop floor: dialing in programs, solving issues, and improving processes. Strong attention to detail and a quality-first mindset. Additional Skills & Qualifications Aerospace and Defense industry experience. HAAS machine experience.

Work Environment

Open to remote candidates but must be able to go to the facility if an issue arises. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Bedford, IN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $60.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
