SDR/BDR Hybrid

Remote-first Full-time Now hiring

Company Description

Educational Travel Adventures (ETA) has been creating enriching travel experiences for students since 1991, helping educators bring their classrooms to life through immersive real-world learning. Specializing in customized tours for groups of fifteen or more, we offer a variety of programs across the United States and around the globe, including performance tours, theatre workshops, culinary experiences, and trips focusing on subjects like History, Civics, Art, and Cultural Studies. With a dedicated team of sales professionals and tour managers, ETA is committed to crafting unique, educational, and memorable experiences for all participants. As proud members of organizations like SYTA, NTA, and ABA, we uphold the highest standards of excellence in student and youth travel. Position Overview At Educational Travel Adventures, we are looking for a highly motivated SDR/BDR Hybrid who thrives in outbound sales, enjoys creating opportunities from scratch, and is energized by building relationships with educators and school leaders. This is not a “wait for leads to come in” role. The majority of your opportunities will be self-sourced through cold outreach, prospecting, follow-up, networking, re-engagement campaigns, and persistence. You will play a critical role in helping schools create unforgettable domestic and international educational travel experiences for students. We are looking for someone with a hunter mentality, strong communication skills, resilience, curiosity, and the ability to operate with urgency and independence. What You’ll Do Prospecting & Pipeline Generation

  • Prospect and identify new schools, districts, teachers, and educational organizations
  • Build and manage your own book of business through outbound outreach
  • Re-engage inactive schools, former travelers, and dormant accounts
  • Conduct high-volume outreach via phone, email, LinkedIn, text, and creative touchpoints
  • Research school systems and decision-makers to personalize outreach efforts
  • Maintain consistent follow-up without becoming overly aggressive

Relationship Building

  • Build trust and rapport with teachers, principals, and educational leaders
  • Guide educators through a process that may be unfamiliar or outside their comfort zone
  • Learn customer motivations and tailor conversations accordingly
  • Collaborate internally with sales leadership and operations teams

Sales Execution & Organization

  • Maintain CRM accuracy and activity tracking
  • Manage follow-up tasks, calendars, and pipeline stages effectively
  • Prioritize leads and opportunities strategically
  • Consistently improve messaging, outreach strategies, and conversion rates
  • Operate effectively in an environment with evolving priorities and ambiguity

What We’re Looking For Core Traits

  • Hunter mentality and strong outbound instincts
  • Fearless approach to sales conversations and cold outreach
  • High resilience and ability to handle rejection positively
  • Curiosity and willingness to experiment with new approaches
  • Coachability and openness to feedback
  • Strong communication skills — clear, concise, personable, and confident
  • Self-starter mentality with ability to work independently
  • Competitive mindset and strong internal drive
  • Ability to stay positive even in challenging sales environments
  • Comfortable being measured on activity, rankings, and performance metrics

Preferred Experience

  • SDR, BDR, sales development, recruiting, fundraising, hospitality, or customer-facing experience preferred
  • Experience with outbound prospecting is a plus
  • Familiarity with CRMs, LinkedIn, prospecting tools, and multi-touch outreach strategies
  • Ability to quickly learn the educational travel industry

What Success Looks Like Successful candidates in this role typically:

  • Create opportunities without waiting for direction
  • Stay persistent through multiple follow-up attempts
  • Bring energy and urgency to their work every day
  • Are comfortable talking to strangers
  • Learn quickly and adapt fast
  • Take ownership and accountability
  • Maintain organization while managing multiple conversations simultaneously
  • Stay composed and positive despite rejection
