Just as we create an elevated experience for our guests, we invest in creating the same for our people—prioritizing transparency, support, accountability, and fulfillment to foster a culture of trust and purpose. ABOUT THIS ROLE Aero is seeking seasoned operations leaders to serve as Duty Managers. This is a critical leadership position responsible for the safe, coordinated, and efficient execution of Aero’s daily flight operations across our Part 135 network. You will be working closely with our Operations Control Center (OCC) team based in Romania, ensuring full compliance with applicable government regulations and company policies while driving superior guest satisfaction. We are looking for a decisive, calm-under-pressure professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and possesses the tactical expertise to manage complex operations—from routine scheduling to irregular operations recovery. The ideal candidate combines deep operational knowledge with strong vendor management and interpersonal skills, serving as the US-based authority coordinating between the Romania OCC team, flight crews, dispatch, maintenance, FBO partners, charter sales, and executive leadership. \n RESPONSIBILITIES Operational Leadership: Exercise tactical oversight of daily flight operations within the OCC, ensuring they are conducted safely, efficiently, and in a manner that delivers superior guest satisfaction. Serve as the US-based authority accountable for the output and performance of the OCC. Resource Optimization: Maximize utilization of aircraft and crews through daily coordination with Crew Scheduling, Dispatch, Maintenance Control, Charter Sales, and other stakeholders during both normal operations and irregular operations (IROPS), including cancellations, consolidations, tech stops, delays, and ferry flights. Schedule Monitoring: Monitor the short-term schedule to verify aircraft are routed efficiently based on route requirements, technical needs, and commercial priorities. IROPS Management: Develop, implement, and oversee disruption recovery plans during irregular operations and delay situations, with a focus on safety, guest needs, and operational continuity. Coordinate cross-departmental responses and facilitate timely communications to all affected parties. FBO Coordination & Partnerships: Serve as the OCC’s primary liaison with Fixed Based Operators (FBOs), ensuring ground operations support aligns with Aero’s service standards. Monitor FBO performance, coordinate issue resolution, and collaborate with the FBO Commercial Relationships team to uphold commercial agreements and service level expectations. Charter & Sales Support: Assist the charter and scheduled operations sales teams with flight times, performance data, aircraft and crew routings, flight numbering, and guest coordination. Act as the primary liaison to the charter team regarding any delays or impacts to charter flights. Reporting & Communication: Process and distribute daily operations summary reports. Chair the bi-weekly Operations huddle. Expeditiously and accurately communicate operational irregularities to all appropriate departments. Regulatory & Agency Liaison: Act as the primary OCC point of contact with the FAR 119 certificate holders (System Chief Pilot, SVP of Operations, VP of Safety, and Director of Maintenance). Serve as the OCC point of contact for TSA, FAA, NTSB, DOT, CBP, and their foreign equivalents on operational matters. Emergency Response: Represent the OCC on the Emergency Command Center (ECC) when the Emergency Response Plan (ERP) is activated. Vendor & Team Management: Demonstrate solid leadership in a fast-paced environment by remaining focused, calm, and even-tempered. Foster a culture of professionalism, accountability, and continuous improvement. Proven leadership ability with a track record of managing teams—including vendor or outsourced organizations—and making accurate, high-stakes decisions under pressure. A keen team player with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments (OCC, Sales, Maintenance, Finance) and across international time zones. Additional Mandates: Ability to maintain flexible working hours to provide oversight across US operations and coordinate with the Romania-based OCC team (EEST/EET time zone). Fulfillment of TSA criminal background checks (CHRC). \n$95,000 - $125,000 a year Pay: Competitive salary based on experience. Time Off: Accrued vacation, sick, and bereavement leave.
