Job Title: Captioner/Transcriptionist About The Role Atlantis University is seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Captioner/Transcriptionist to join our Education Management team. This role plays a vital part in enhancing accessibility and inclusivity by providing accurate and timely captions and transcriptions for educational content.   • Deliver high-quality captions and transcriptions for lectures, webinars, and other educational materials.
  • Ensure content is accessible and compliant with relevant standards and guidelines.
  • Collaborate closely with faculty and media teams to meet project deadlines and quality expectations.

Responsibilities

  • Transcribe audio and video recordings accurately, maintaining the original meaning and tone.
  • Create closed captions and subtitles that align with audio content and timing.
  • Review and edit transcripts and captions to ensure error-free and clear output.
  • Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive educational materials responsibly.
  • Adhere to accessibility standards such as ADA and Section 508 compliance.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
  • Work collaboratively with academic staff and technical teams to resolve any content-related issues.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in transcription, captioning, or related roles, preferably within education or media sectors.
  • Strong command of English grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
  • Familiarity with captioning software and transcription tools (e.g., Express Scribe, Adobe Premiere, or similar).
  • Excellent listening skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Basic understanding of accessibility standards and best practices.
  • High school diploma required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
