Location: U.S. Remote, with preference for those in proximity to current EDF Office locations (Austin, TX; Boston, MA; New York, NY; Raleigh, NC; Washington, DC). Duration: This is a 9-month fixed-term position with full benefits. Overall Function The Analyst, Total Rewards is an early-career role supporting both Benefits and Compensation. This position is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, curious, and eager to grow a career in Total Rewards. You will manage core administrative processes while also evaluating jobs, analyzing market information, and helping to develop process improvements that directly influence how we attract, retain, and reward talent. This position plays a critical role in ensuring our total rewards programs are competitive, equitable, and aligned with our environmental mission. This position reports directly to the Head of Total Rewards.

Key Responsibilities

Support total rewards projects, such as pay equity analysis, job leveling, program enhancements, and open enrollment Prepare organizational data for salary/benefit surveys to support the ongoing improvement of total reward programs and objectives Partner across HR to provide data-driven guidance on offers and pay decisions Review and approve data for new hires Independently price job requisitions using market data, internal equity, and compensation frameworks Support and enhance compensation processes (e.g., merit, bonus, promotions) through data validation, modeling, and reporting Support audits, reporting, and compliance activities with a focus on data integrity, continuous improvement and risk mitigation Contribute to documentation, training materials, and communication strategies for total rewards programs Maintain and audit employee data across HR and vendor systems, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and compliance; support HRIS testing as relevant to total rewards configurations Reconcile and process benefits invoices, proactively identifying discrepancies and driving resolution with vendors Manage the HR inbox and Nectar rewards program, delivering high-quality employee support and identifying trends in inquiries Participate in advancing EDF’s organizational effectiveness and culture goals, so people from all backgrounds and experiences feel connected, included and empowered to address environmental and organizational challenges in ways that align with EDF values. Additional relevant projects as assigned Growth & Development Build expertise in compensation approach, market analytics, and total rewards program design Gain experience owning projects end-to-end, from data analysis through recommendations and implementation Develop advanced capabilities in HR analytics, systems, and stakeholder consulting Play a visible role in shaping programs that support employees and advance our mission

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in human resources or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience 2–4 years of experience in HR, compensation, analytics, or related roles (or equivalent analytical experience) Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate data into insights and recommendations Advanced Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, lookups, data validation, basic modeling) Experience working with HRIS systems (e.g., Workday) and compensation or benefits data preferred Ability to manage multiple priorities and take ownership of projects Strong communication skills with the ability to explain data and recommendations clearly High level of discretion and ability to handle confidential information sensitively and compliantly Demonstrate self-awareness, cultural competency and inclusivity, and ability to work with colleagues and stakeholders across all cultures and backgrounds.
