Senior Sourcing Manager, IT and Software

As a Senior Strategic Sourcing Manager, you will join IDEXX’s high-impact indirect procurement team and lead strategic sourcing initiatives across technology, software, and other indirect spend categories. This role is fully remote and requires that candidates be able to support standard East Coast business hours (9:00 AM – 5:00 PM or 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM EST). IDEXX's Global Procurement team partners across IDEXX to drive strategic supplier relationships, optimize spend, mitigate risk, and deliver value that supports IDEXX’s continued growth and operational excellence around the world. In this role, you will directly influence business outcomes by leading high-value sourcing initiatives, negotiating complex commercial agreements, and helping shape procurement strategies that support IDEXX’s long-term success. You will act as a trusted advisor to stakeholders across IT, Legal, Finance, and other business functions while owning a portfolio of strategic suppliers and sourcing projects. In this role: You will own and execute end-to-end strategic sourcing initiatives across indirect spend categories, with a strong focus on technology and software procurement. You will independently lead complex, multi-step RFP processes for contracts exceeding $250K. You will develop and implement sourcing strategies that support business goals, optimize value, and manage supplier-related risk. You will negotiate pricing, contract terms, service levels, and commercial structures to improve cost efficiency and overall business outcomes. You will build sourcing leverage through supplier competition, benchmarking, market analysis, and strategic negotiation approaches. You will partner cross-functionally with stakeholders across IT, Legal, Finance, and other business areas to align sourcing strategies and support successful project execution. You will manage supplier relationships, including supplier performance, risk mitigation efforts, and continuous improvement initiatives. You will translate business requirements into clear scopes of work, sourcing plans, and procurement strategies. You will perform total cost of ownership analysis to identify long-term value opportunities, hidden costs, and operational efficiencies. You will manage a pipeline of sourcing initiatives while balancing multiple priorities in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. You will contribute to a culture of collaboration, continuous learning, accountability, and strategic business partnership. What you need to succeed: You have 5–8 years of experience in indirect procurement and strategic sourcing with ownership of supplier portfolios (required). You have proven experience independently leading end-to-end RFP processes for contracts valued at $250K or greater (required). You have 1–2+ years of experience sourcing technology and software categories, including SaaS, subscriptions, licensing agreements, or related IT spend (required). You have strong contract knowledge and experience negotiating complex commercial agreements that deliver measurable business value (required). You have experience applying structured, multi-step sourcing methodologies such as Kearney or similar strategic sourcing frameworks (required). You have advanced negotiation skills and experience creating leverage strategies that drive favorable sourcing outcomes (required). You have strong business acumen and are comfortable influencing stakeholders across IT, Legal, Finance, and other functions without direct authority (required). You have excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to build trusted advisor relationships across the organization (required). You have strong project management and organizational skills, including the ability to manage multiple priorities and reprioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment (required). You approach sourcing decisions with a strategic mindset focused on cost optimization, timing, supplier risk, and long-term value creation (required). You are agile, adaptable, and solutions-oriented with a proactive and ownership-driven approach to problem solving (required). You have demonstrated success leading complex sourcing initiatives, driving cost savings, and improving supplier performance (required). You are comfortable working standard East Coast business hours in support of cross-functional stakeholder collaboration (required).
