Remote Sports Data Analyst & Strategist

Our client is a leading sports analytics firm looking for a talented and data-driven Sports Data Analyst & Strategist to join their fully remote team. In this role, you will leverage advanced statistical techniques and data visualization tools to uncover insights that drive performance improvements for professional sports teams and organizations. You will work with large datasets, develop predictive models, and communicate complex findings clearly to coaches, athletes, and management.

Responsibilities

Collect, clean, and analyze large datasets from various sports performance tracking systems, game statistics, and scouting reports. Develop and implement statistical models to identify key performance indicators (KPIs), predict outcomes, and optimize strategies. Create compelling data visualizations and dashboards to communicate insights effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Collaborate with coaching staff and performance analysts to understand their needs and translate them into data-driven solutions. Conduct in-depth research on sports trends, opponent analysis, and player performance evaluation. Identify opportunities for strategic advantage through innovative data analysis. Develop and maintain databases for tracking player and team performance. Stay updated with the latest advancements in sports analytics, machine learning, and relevant technologies. Present findings and recommendations in a clear, concise, and actionable manner.

Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Statistics, Data Science, Sports Science, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field. Proven experience in sports analytics, with a strong portfolio demonstrating data analysis and strategic recommendation capabilities. Proficiency in statistical programming languages such as Python (with libraries like Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn) or R. Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Matplotlib, Seaborn). Strong understanding of various sports and their associated performance metrics. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a remote setting. Strong communication and presentation skills, capable of explaining complex data to diverse audiences. Familiarity with database management (SQL) is a plus.
