We're looking for a Biostatistician who is passionate about statistical methodology and thrives at the intersection of academic rigour and real-world software impact. You have a strong grounding in statistics and hands-on experience in biostatistics, clinical trials, or a closely related field — and you're energised by the challenge of translating cutting-edge research into tools used by the world's leading pharmaceutical and biotech companies. You bring proficiency in R and a genuine curiosity for statistical methods — from sample size determination and power analysis through to adaptive design, Bayesian statistics, and clinical trial simulation. You're comfortable both working independently on research problems and collaborating with a technical development team to bring new methods to life in software. An interest in engaging with clients and the broader statistical community — through webinars, conferences, or training — is a strong plus. In this role you will get to: Research and develop new statistical methods for inclusion in nQuery, spanning sample size determination, power analysis, adaptive design, Bayesian statistics, and clinical trial simulation Prototype and validate statistical methodologies in collaboration with our experienced in-house development team Support software users with statistical queries and guidance on the latest product enhancements Represent nQuery externally through online webinars, client training sessions, and high-impact industry conferences across Ireland/UK, EU, and US Write and record online content that helps communicate complex statistical concepts to a broad audience We are looking for people with 1–5 years of relevant experience in (bio)statistics, clinical trials, or data science/analysis. You will hold a PhD or MSc in Statistics/Biostatistics, or a BSc/BA with a specialisation in (Bio)Statistics. The key skills we are looking for: Strong background and demonstrable interest in statistics Proficiency in R, with the ability to prototype and test statistical methodologies Solid understanding of clinical trial design concepts and statistical methodology Ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical audiences You may also have: Particular interest or experience in clinical trials, biostatistics, pharmaceuticals, or biotech Familiarity with statistical software such as EAST, PASS/NCSS, FACTS, or GraphPad Prism Programming experience in SAS, Stata, C#, C++, Python, or Julia Experience or interest in client-facing work such as training, demonstrations, or presentations Research shows us the confidence gap and imposter syndrome can get in the way of meeting outstanding candidates, so please don’t hesitate to apply — we’d love to hear from you.
