What You Will Be Doing Every Day

As a Data Entry Claims Intake Processor at arenaflex, you will be at the heart of our claims processing operation. Your primary responsibility will be to accurately and efficiently enter data from insurance claims and authorization requests submitted by healthcare providers. The work you do directly impacts the speed and quality of care delivery, making your role essential to the success of our clients and the patients they serve.

Core Daily Responsibilities

  • Accurately enter data from insurance claims and authorization requests submitted by healthcare providers into our proprietary systems with a high degree of precision.
  • Process incoming claims and authorizations expediently and efficiently to meet and exceed client turnaround time requirements.
  • Navigate imaging software platforms skillfully to retrieve, review, and process claims and authorizations for data entry.
  • Differentiate between various claim types and apply the appropriate data entry guidelines based on the specific requirements of each claim category.
  • Accurately identify specific document types that require special handling and ensure they are processed according to established protocols.
  • Work collaboratively with fellow team members to ensure that all work is completed in accordance with designated turnaround times and quality standards.
  • Support additional workflows as needed due to internal or external requirements, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic work environment.

Additional Responsibilities and Contributions

  • Perform quality reviews of other team members' claims and authorizations according to established data entry guidelines, helping to maintain the highest standards of accuracy across the team.
  • Contribute to the overall team effort by accomplishing additional responsibilities as needed and supporting colleagues during peak periods.
  • Alert management of potential issues upon identification of discrepancies, errors, or unusual patterns in claims data.
  • Provide recommendations on process improvements to increase efficiencies, reduce errors, and enhance overall workflow effectiveness.

Performance Expectations and Assessment

To ensure that all candidates selected for this position are well-equipped to succeed, arenaflex requires candidates to complete an online alphanumeric data entry assessment as part of the selection process. The minimum performance benchmarks for this role are:

  • 8,200 Keystrokes Per Hour (KSPH) – demonstrating the speed necessary to handle the volume of claims processed daily.
  • 98% Accuracy Rate – ensuring that the data entered meets the highest quality standards expected by our clients and their patients.

Required Qualifications and Experience

Education and Certifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.

Professional Experience

  • Six months or more of experience in a data entry or typing-focused role is required.
  • Previous experience in healthcare claims processing, insurance, or medical data entry is a strong plus.
  • Experience working remotely or in a distributed team environment is highly valued.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong data entry and typing skills with a proven ability to maintain high speed and accuracy simultaneously.
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to spot inconsistencies, errors, and discrepancies in complex data sets.
  • High degree of accuracy and a commitment to producing error-free work.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
  • Comfortable working with various software platforms, imaging systems, and digital tools.

  • Previous experience in healthcare, insurance, medical billing, or claims processing environments.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology, ICD codes, CPT codes, or healthcare documentation standards.
  • Experience with document imaging software, electronic health records (EHR) systems, or claims management platforms.
  • Demonstrated track record of meeting or exceeding productivity and accuracy targets in previous data entry roles.
  • Quality assurance or peer review experience in a data-focused environment.
