[Remote] Financial Controller

Davidek Law Firm is an estate planning and asset protection law firm dedicated to preserving family harmony through meticulous financial management. The Financial Controller will ensure the accuracy of financial data, compliance with reporting deadlines, and provide support to the legal team, ultimately contributing to the firm's mission of helping families navigate sensitive transitions.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain up-to-date ledgers by categorizing all QuickBooks Online transactions on a weekly basis
  • Complete full reconciliation of QuickBooks to all bank statements by the 10th calendar day of each month
  • Execute all bill-pay functions and run payroll accurately and on time
  • Serve as the primary IRA benefits coordinator and Health Insurance liaison, managing annual renewals and resolving all employee-vendor issues
  • Partner with our external CFO team to implement sophisticated financial controls and improve internal data flow processes
  • Ensure all federal and state reporting is filed correctly and provide comprehensive monthly financial reports to the Executive Team
  • Act as the "financial face" of the firm, answering team questions and resolving issues related to bill pay and finance

Skills

  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience as a Controller for a small or mid-sized business
  • Extensive experience with QuickBooks Online, Excel, and Google Sheets
  • Must be an incorporated entity with active liability/errors and omissions insurance
  • Ability to work virtually and meet all recurring weekly and monthly deadlines
  • Bookkeeping or QuickBooks certifications are a significant plus
  • While the role is mostly virtual, the ability to occasionally visit our New Braunfels, Texas office is a plus
