[Remote] Senior QA Engineer

As a Senior QA Engineer, you will ensure the quality of software across various platforms, contribute to automation efforts, and collaborate with teams to enhance testing processes and release readiness.
Responsibilities
- QA and regression-test software for Hometap’s homeowner platform, investor tools, and internal systems
- Drive user acceptance testing (UAT) programs with internal stakeholders and end users
- Help to architect, build, and continuously extend our automated regression testing suite; mentor engineers on the automation framework and best practices
- Design solutions to automate testing of third-party integrations
- Collaborate closely with DevOps to create and maintain AWS sandbox environments for testing and build robust continuous testing pipelines, utilizing tools such as Docker and AWS
- Suggest and evaluate new technologies and tools to assist the QA Team and the overall Technical Product Organization
- Partner with the Product team; carry in-depth knowledge of Hometap software, and acceptance-test new features while covering them with automation
- Be a key stakeholder in release readiness validation; be empowered to prevent immature software from premature release
Skills
- 5+ years of professional experience in web application testing
- Strong command of QA processes, testing methodologies, and best practices, with a track record of championing quality standards across all phases of product development
- 2+ years of hands-on experience with web QA automation tools and frameworks
- Experience conducting code reviews of test automation code and mentoring others on best practices, code standards, and maintainability
- Proficiency in JavaScript for writing automated tests, with the adaptability to pick up additional languages as needed
- Experience implementing continuous testing in CI/CD pipelines and collaborating with DevOps
- Experience with API testing and UI/UX testing
- Ability to partner with product managers to translate feature requirements into comprehensive test plans, thinking from the perspective of multiple stakeholders
- Meaningful experience using AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Claude Code)
- Strong exploratory testing skills and a high-quality bar
- Experience with Cypress or PlayWright
- Experience with Python/Python-based frameworks such as Django
- AWS ecosystem expertise
- Experience with security testing
