[Remote] Healthcare Python Developer
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. TalentXM is a company that builds vertical AI agents for revenue cycle management. They are seeking a Healthcare Python Developer to develop, test, and maintain Python automation for RCM workflows, as well as integrate healthcare data standards and optimize data-processing pipelines.
Responsibilities
- Develop, test, and maintain Python automation for RCM workflows: eligibility verification, claims processing, payment posting, and denial management
- Build integrations across healthcare data standards: HL7, FHIR, and EDI 837/835, plus the CMS-0057 prior-auth APIs (CRD, DTR, PAS)
- Integrate with EHR/EMR and practice management systems (athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, NextGen, Veradigm) and clearinghouse networks
- Build Selenium and OpenCV-based UI automation where no API exists, and wire in RPA flows where they fit
- Build and optimize scalable ETL and data-processing pipelines for healthcare data
- Handle the real failure modes of healthcare APIs, where a 200 response can still carry a failure flag, and make those errors visible instead of silent
- Apply OCR, NLP, and generative AI to RCM tasks as the practice grows, working with the AI team
- Keep PHI handling inside HIPAA, SOC 2 Type II, and HITRUST expectations: minimal data, encrypted in transit and at rest, full audit trail
Skills
- 5+ years of production Python with strong object-oriented programming
- Hands-on RCM automation: eligibility, claims, payment posting, denial management
- Experience with healthcare data standards: HL7, FHIR, and EDI 837/835
- Integration experience with EHR/EMR systems and third-party healthcare applications
- Selenium and OpenCV for UI automation, or comparable tooling
- Solid SQL, API design, and defensive error handling
- Clear written communication, since the pod runs across time zones
- RPA tools (UiPath, Blue Prism, Automation Anywhere)
- Cloud and containers: Azure or AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD
- OCR, NLP, or generative AI for RCM
- Predictive analytics and machine learning for RCM optimization
- BI tools (Power BI, Tableau) and reporting
- Workato, Copilot Studio, or another iPaaS or agent platform
