We are currently seeking dedicated, detail-oriented, and customer-focused professionals to join our expanding remote workforce as Remote Pharmacy Data Entry & Customer Support Specialists. This is a full-time, work-from-home opportunity offering a competitive hourly rate starting at $27, with growth potential up to $35 per hour based on experience and performance.

Position Overview

As a Remote Pharmacy Data Entry & Customer Support Specialist at arenaflex, you will serve as a critical link between patients, healthcare providers, and insurance partners. Working under direct supervision, you will be responsible for accurate information processing, patient enrollment, third-party discrepancy resolution, and responding to high-volume customer inquiries. Your work directly impacts patient care outcomes and ensures that medication requests are handled efficiently, safely, and in full compliance with HIPAA regulations and arenaflex policies.

Key Responsibilities

Pharmacy Data Entry and Prescription Processing

  • Process new patient enrollments by accurately entering required data into arenaflex pharmacy systems using established data entry procedures and guidelines.
  • Handle patient medication requests within strict HIPAA compliance standards, ensuring all protected health information remains secure and confidential.
  • Enter prescription refill orders into the processing system with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Investigate and obtain missing prescription information by contacting prescribers, patients, or other authorized parties as needed.
  • Interpret and transcribe common medical abbreviations, including SIG codes, to ensure prescription instructions are accurately recorded.
  • Resolve all data entry-related exceptions, troubleshooting issues that arise during the order entry process.

Customer Communication and Support

  • Handle inbound communication from patients through multiple channels, including phone calls, live chat sessions, and email correspondence.
  • Make outbound calls to prescribers and patients as needed to clarify prescription details, obtain authorizations, or provide updates on order status.
  • Provide professional, courteous, and empathetic service to every patient interaction, reflecting arenaflex's commitment to exceptional customer care.
  • Document all customer interactions thoroughly in the appropriate systems to maintain accurate records.

Third-Party Discrepancy Resolution

  • Resolve third-party discrepancies by carefully reviewing claims, gathering missing information, making necessary corrections, and resubmitting for processing according to individual plan requirements.
  • Place outbound calls to insurance providers and other relevant parties to obtain information, secure override approvals, or otherwise resolve outstanding discrepancies.
  • Track and follow up on pending third-party issues to ensure timely resolution and prevent delays in patient medication access.

Pharmacist and Team Support

  • Provide assistance to pharmacists, both in-office and in remote locations, by completing assigned tasks accurately and efficiently.
  • Identify and communicate issues, trends, or concerns to senior-level staff as appropriate to support continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional team members to ensure smooth workflow operations and excellent service delivery.
  • Maintain working knowledge of arenaflex policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Licensure Requirement

  • Obtain an active pharmacy technician license or certification within the first 90 days of employment (company-sponsored training and resources provided).
  • Maintain an active technician license or certification throughout the duration of employment at arenaflex.

Essential Qualifications

To be considered for this remote opportunity, candidates must meet the following minimum requirements:

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Basic Computer Skills: Demonstrated foundational computer literacy, including the ability to start and shut down a computer, use a mouse to point and click, launch and close programs, switch between applications, save files, print reports, and access information online.
  • Web Navigation: Basic internet search skills, including opening a browser, entering URLs correctly, using search engines, bookmarking websites, navigating browser back/forward/stop buttons, and completing online forms.
  • Keyboarding: Intermediate typing skills of at least 25 words per minute (WPM), with the ability to type by memory and basic document formatting capabilities.
  • Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication abilities, with the capacity to convey information clearly and professionally.
  • Age Requirement: Must be 18 years of age or older.

Preferred Qualifications

Candidates who bring the following additional experience and skills will be given priority consideration:

  • At least one year of pharmacy technician experience in a retail pharmacy or call center environment.
  • At least 18 months of experience working as a pharmacy technician with active state certification or registration granted by a state Board of Pharmacy or nationally recognized certifying organization (such as PTCB or NHA).
  • Prior experience providing customer service to both internal and external stakeholders, with a track record of meeting quality standards and contributing to customer satisfaction evaluation processes.
  • Intermediate to advanced typing skills of at least 35 WPM, with the ability to type by memory and format documents efficiently.
  • Bilingual fluency in both Spanish and English, enabling effective communication with arenaflex's diverse customer base.
