Job Description

We are looking for highly motivated Software Engineering Interns who are passionate about Open Source, Go programming, and Cloud Native technologies. This internship is designed as a pathway to a full-time engineering role for candidates who demonstrate strong technical ability, ownership, and the mindset to thrive in a fast-moving environment. You will have the opportunity to work on production-grade infrastructure and contribute to technologies used by enterprises worldwide. Depending on your skills and interests, you may work on CNCF ecosystem projects such as Prometheus, CloudNativePG (CNPG), Kubernetes and others, while collaborating with experienced engineers and interacting directly with customers. What you will do Build and contribute to cloud native software using Go. Work on real-world engineering challenges across Prometheus, Kubernetes, CloudNativePG (Postgres Operator) and the CNCF ecosystem. Contribute to open source projects and upstream communities where applicable. Debug, troubleshoot, and improve distributed systems. Collaborate with customers to understand problems and deliver practical solutions. Take end-to-end ownership of assigned tasks, from design to implementation and documentation. Continuously learn and adapt to new technologies and engineering practices. What we are looking for Strong interest in Open Source software and Cloud Native technologies. Good programming skills in Go (or a willingness to become highly proficient in Go). Solid understanding of computer science fundamentals, Linux, networking, and distributed systems concepts. Self-disciplined, proactive, and capable of taking ownership without constant supervision. Strong problem-solving and debugging skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Empathy and professionalism when working with customers and teammates. Curiosity, initiative, and a strong desire to learn by building. Bonus points Your chances of selection will significantly improve if you have: Previous contributions to Open Source projects (GitHub profile, pull requests, issues, or maintainership). Active participation in CNCF or other open source communities. Experience with Kubernetes, Prometheus, CloudNativePG, or related cloud native technologies. Personal projects demonstrating systems programming, distributed systems, or infrastructure engineering. Participation in programs such as GSoC, LFX Mentorship, or similar initiatives. Internship to Full-Time This internship is intended to identify future full-time engineers. High-performing interns will be offered the opportunity to join the team as full-time Software Engineers based on their performance, ownership, technical skills, and cultural fit. Selection Philosophy We value demonstrated ability over credentials. A strong GitHub profile, meaningful open source contributions, technical depth, ownership, and the ability to communicate effectively will stand out far more than a resume alone. Apply To This Job
